Predicting young customers’ intention to repurchase green plastic products: incorporating trust model into purchase intention model

Abstract: Purpose This study aims to assess young customers’ repurchasing intentions toward green plastic products by incorporating green trust model into green purchase intention model. It also evaluates the role of gender moderation in the green repurchase intention formation model. Design/methodology/approach A total of 314 young consumers of green plastic products in Bandung, Indonesia were determined for this study. This study used variance-based partial least squares (PLS) to evaluate the proposed model and exam… Show more

“…We applied partial least squares (PLS), a component-based structural equation modeling (SEM), for data analysis and model testing in this study. SEM analysis is used to analyze the link among latent variables (endogenous and exogenous) and identifies indicator variables simultaneously [61,62]. In addition, SEM is more efficient and more accurate since it can simultaneously execute factor analysis and regression analysis.…”

“…In addition, purposive sampling was chosen because this study requires specific criteria so that the samples taken follow the research objectives, namely, being able to solve research problems and provide a representative sample. Many studies (Suhartanto et al , 2021; Nguyen et al , 2019; Pandey et al , 2019) also use purposive sampling to analyze consumer’s purchasing intentions. Therefore, in this context, the use of purposive sampling is the most appropriate.…”
