Predicting protein submitochondria locations by combining different descriptors into the general form of Chou’s pseudo amino acid composition

Abstract: Knowledge of the submitochondria location of protein is integral to understanding its function and a necessity in the proteomics era. In this work, a new submitochondria data set is constructed, and an approach for predicting protein submitochondria locations is proposed by combining the amino acid composition, dipeptide composition, reduced physicochemical properties, gene ontology, evolutionary information, and pseudo-average chemical shift. The overall prediction accuracy is 93.57% for the submitochondria l… Show more

“…Therefore, the LOO test has been widely recognized and increasingly utilized by investigators to examine the quality of various predictors (see, e.g. Fan and Li, 2012;Sahu and Panda, 2010;Sun et al, 2012). Accordingly, in this study the LOO test was also adopted to evaluate the accuracy of the current predictor.…”

“…The LOO test is the least arbitrary that can always yield a unique result for a given benchmark dataset. Therefore, it has been widely recognized and increasingly utilized to examine the quality of various predictors (see, e.g.,18232425). Accordingly, in this study the LOO and K-fold cross validation were adopted to evaluate the accuracy of the current predictor.…”

Therefore, the jackknife test has been widely recognized and increasingly utilized by investigators to examine the quality of various predictors (see, e.g., [32,5362]). Accordingly, in this study, the jackknife test was also adopted to evaluate the accuracy of the current predictor.…”
