“…Before the onset of the first lockdown, maternal non-hostility seemed to reduce cumulative infantile psychopathologies. Less harsh parenting promotes psychological well-being of an infant or toddler [18][19][20]24]. This effect is not visible in mother-infant-dyads recruited after the onset of the first German lockdown-though the direct comparison of this correlation did not reveal any effect.…”

“…EA is described as integral for healthy development and infantile psychological well-being, as well as social-and cognitive development [18][19][20][21][22]. In general, higher maternal EA is connected to fewer behavioral symptoms in infancy and childhood [23,24] and might act as a promotive factor interrupting the trajectories of risks [25]. Promotive factors in general are connected to a healthy development and overcoming obstacles [25,26], and could be leading towards higher resiliency against mental disorders in infancy and childhood as a final result [27].…”

“…The internal consistency in our sample is satisfactory with a Cronbach's alpha for EC = 0.77. Although the CBQ has not yet been validated in German, it can be requested from Rothbarts CBQ homepage in German and has been used successfully in a large number of studies (e.g., Kerner auch Koerner et al., 2018; Licata‐Dandel et al., 2021).…”

“…During quarantine, parents are often the closest and best source of help to children. Studies have shown that friendly communication with children is the key to identifying any physical and psychological problems, and also maternal sensitivity was associated with children’s behavioral problems [ 8 , 10 ]. Although both parents are involved in training the child, the mother has a more significant role in educating the child [ 11 ].…”
