Lapangan minyak tua Kawengan ditemukan pertama kali pada tahun 1923. Pada lapangan minyak,terutama yang sudah merupakan mature field seperti KWG ini, terjadi banyak masalah - masalah yangbiasanya terjadi yang dapat menyebabkan produksi fluida kurang optimal. Sumur di lapangan KWGsendiri memiliki masalah berupa endapan parafin, water cut tinggi, tubing bocor, rod putus, kepasirandan lain sebagainya. Maka dari itu, diperlukan pemetaan permasalahan pada sumur untuk mengetahuiskala prioritas masalah yang harus segera ditanggulangi. Metode analisa yang dilakukan adalah analisaUrgency, Seriousness, and Growth (USG) yang digunakan dalam penentuan skala prioritas pada setiapmasalah. Dalam melakukan analisa USG ini, digunakan skala poin 1 sampai 5 untuk melakukan skoringterkait masalah yang terjadi di sumur. Potensi sumur juga menjadi salah satu penilaian dalam penentuannilai USG-nya oleh karena itu jika terdapat dua sumur dengan kerusakan yang sama maka sumur yangakan dipilih untuk diperbaiki adalah sumur yang memiliki nilai produktivitas yang lebih tinggi. Darimetode analisa ini, diperoleh bahwa dari beberapa masalah yang diidentifikasi, terpilih tiga masalahyang dinilai paling penting dan harus ditangani sesegera mungkin. Masalah-masalah tersebut berupa rodputus, tubing bocor, dan paraffin wax. Dilakukan juga analisa lanjutan mengenai metode-metodepenanggulangan tepat untuk menangani masalah tersebut dan dilakukan perbandingan terhadapimplementasi yang sudah diterapkan pada permasalahan di sumur-sumur Lapangan Kawengan

The design of production systems of gas fields is a difficult task because of the nonlinear nature of the optimization problem and the complex interactions between each operational parameter. Conventional methods, which are usually stated in precise mathematical forms, cannot include the uncertainties associated with vague or imprecise information in the objective and constraint functions.This paper proposes a fuzzy nonlinear programming approach to accommodate these uncertainties and applies it to a variety of optimization processes. Specifically, the fuzzy -formulation is combined with a hybrid coevolutionary genetic algorithm for the optimal design of gas-production systems. Both the multiple conflicting objective and constraint functions for production systems of gas fields are formulated in a feasible fuzzy domain. Then, the genetic algorithm is used as a primary optimization scheme for solving the optimum gas-production rates of each well and the pipeline segment diameters to minimize the investment cost with a given set of constraints in order to enhance the ultimate recovery.The synthetic-optimization method can find a global compromise solution and offer a new alternative with significant improvement over the existing conventional techniques. The reliability of the proposed approach is validated by a synthetic practical example yielding more-improved results. This method constitutes an offering of a powerful tool for cost savings in the planning and optimization of gas-production operations.

Effect of Reservoir Mineralogy on Asphaltene Structure and Remediation Strategy Efficiency

For many years, formation damage caused by asphaltene precipitation and deposition has been an issue. The most detrimental impacts are changes to wettability, permeability, and flow area, which ultimately reduce production. To this end, several remediation methods, with considerable economic ramifications, have been adopted, including mechanical removal of the deposits or injection of chemicals to dissolve the deposits. Due to its advantages over mechanical procedures, chemical injection has been used extensively in the industry to remove asphaltene deposits; nonetheless, this method does not completely remove all the deposits. Xylene and petroleum naphtha are two of the most effective fluids used for asphaltene deposit remediation, with their effectiveness based on how aromatic the asphaltene deposit is. Considering this, the effectiveness of remedial activities will be impacted by changes in the aromaticity or structural characteristics of asphaltene. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine how reservoir rock mineralogy affects the structural characteristics of asphaltene molecules and how those characteristics affect remediation efforts. X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, Rock-Eval analysis, Raman spectroscopy, and elemental analysis were used in this investigation to analyze the asphaltene samples. Furthermore, the effectiveness of xylene as an asphaltene remediation fluid was examined. The results show that the asphaltene samples from the Arab light, medium, and heavy crude oil samples are roughly the same in terms of composition but vary by structural makeup. Furthermore, the asphaltene samples from these crude oils lack the carboxylic functional group that gives most carbonate rocks their oil wetness, leading to intermediate wetness in the analyzed situations. Additionally, rock mineralogy has an impact on the structural characteristics of asphaltene, which in turn impacts how well remediation fluids work to clear up asphaltene deposits.
