Precooling, shipment and cold storage of tender fruit with notes on packing and packages /

Abstract

To the Honourable. The Minister of Agriculture. Sm,-I beg to submit for your approval the manuscript for a bulletin giving the results of two years' work at the Grimsby Precooling and Experimental Fruit Storage Warehouse, which has been prepared under my direction by Edwin Smith, B.Sc, who is in charge, assisted by J. M. Greclman, B.S.A. Mr. Smith has, by his devotion to the work, his excellent training and keen grasp of essentials, collected a large amount of data during the past two years, which must prove to be useful information to fruit growers, shippers and dealers. He has been ably assisted since the beginning of the season of 1915 by Mr. Creelman, who had previously gained valuable experience, in British Columbia and in California, along similar lines of investigation. Mention sftiould also be made of those fruit growers and shippers in the Niagara district whose hearty cooperation has been a great help in extending the scope of the work. I have the honour to recommend that the manuscript be printed for circulation as Bulletin 48 of the Dairy at:d Cold Storage Series.
