Precision high resolution fourier transform spectroscopy of greenhouse gases at millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths

Abstract: Dispersive Fourier transform spectroscopy (DFTS) provides us with a very effective technique for the measurement of absorption and refractive index spectra of environmentally hazardous gases. This paper presents the rotational transition lines and refractive index spectra of Nitrous Oxide gas as a function of varying pressure using DFTS for the very first time. The relationship between the variation of the pressure and the change in the absorption spectrum is examined and discussed in detail. Nitrous Oxide (NO… Show more

“…Spectroscopy is a fundamental analytical tool utilized in many chemical and biological analysis applications, including environmental sensing, botanical and ecological analysis, and clinical and biochemical studies (Sonnenfroh and Allen 1996;Almoayed et al 2008;Abad and Maghooli 2008;Klaessens et al 2008). While there are many approaches to spectroscopy, FTS is well-known and widely used for its powerful analytical techniques to measure the spectra of a weakly extended source.…”
