Precise determination of fundamental parameters of six exoplanet host stars and their planets

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to determinate the fundamental parameters of six exoplanet host (EH) stars and their planets. While techniques for detecting exoplanets yield properties of the planet only as a function of the properties of the host star, hence, we must accurately determine parameters of EH stars at first. For this reason, we constructed a grid of stellar models including diffusion and rotation-induced extra-mixing with given ranges of input parameters (i.e. mass, metallicity, and initial rotation rate… Show more

“…• 0 −4.9 +4.1 ). Our derived M sin i of 7.20 ± 0.13 M Jup corroborates the dynamical analyses of Wittenmyer et al (2009), Stassun et al (2017) and Liu et al (2014) within 5%. Other orbital parameters such as semi-major axis, period, and eccentricity are also in perfect agreement with results obtained by these authors.…”

“…The fundamental stellar parameters are not only useful in the context of stellar evolution but also in the studies of exoplanets (see, e.g., Nutzman et al 2011;Gilliland et al 2013;Liu et al 2014;Silva Aguirre et al 2015), stellar populations (Chaplin et al 2011), and galactic archeology (see, e.g., Miglio et al 2013;Casagrande et al 2014Casagrande et al , 2016. The stellar ages are particularly important, and cannot be determined directly.…”

“…Huber et al (2013) obtained fundamental properties of 66 Kepler planet-candidate host stars using asteroseismology, which led to a better characterization of the associated planets. Liu et al (2014) were able to better constrain the properties of exoplanets based on inferences of parameters of the corresponding host stars for six stellar systems. Silva Aguirre et al (2015) presented a uniform study of 33 Kepler planet-candidate host stars and derived the stellar properties with high precision.…”
