Pragmatizmin Temel Sorunları Çerçevesinde Ahmet Haşim’in Gurebâhâne-i Laklakan’ındaki Pragmatik Yapı

Abstract

Ahmet Haşim, one of the greatest prose writers of Turkish Literature, differs from his successors and predecessors with the ideas he advocates as well as in the way he expresses them. Compared to literary genres like anecdote that directly adress the interlocutor, having an original idea does not alone have the power of Influence. The wording equipped with analogy and metaphor, therefore, also hyperbole and partly contrast, that the author has built to persuade the reader, brings with it the risk of not being understood or misunderstood. What makes Haşim original is not the tenor (weak element) or vehicle (strong element) that he brings together, but the point that gives depth to the style is that the analogy direction gets digested to the nature of the tarayfeyn (two sides: tenor and vehicle), even though it should be in person and not in the nature of the tarayfeyn, which means that the truth is reconstructed in every anectode. In other words, A. Haşim was able to draw his own special perlocation frame within pragmatic. The study, which is built around a popular idea, that is related to the time experienced, will be carried out on "Gurebâhâne-i Laklakan" (Hospital of the stork) in order to achieve a new "whole" without breaking the connection with the idea while to skillfully including other irrelevant connections. F. C. S. Schiller's pragmatic attitude will be the other center of the comparison with its distance from other understandings of pragmatism and its proximity to humanism. As the analysis will show, A. Haşim is a pragmatist far beyond his time as well as a master poet.
