Practicality of learning devices in problem-based learning implementation in contextual teaching and learning approach

Abstract: This study aimed to describe the practicality of physics learning tools with a problem-based learning model with a contextual teaching and learning approach. The research was conducted at Muhammadiyah Batudaa high school, and the research sample used was class XI using a simple random sampling technique. This development research uses the ADDIE model developed by Reiser and Mollenda, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The practicality test is carried out… Show more

“…Based on the table above, the most positive response to the use of local wisdombased learning media in chemistry learning was class X students with female gender. This is in line with the results of previous research which shows that female students' interest in studying chemistry is higher than that of male students (Tripp & Munson, 2022) And based on class level, class X students tend to be more interested in contextual learning than class XI and XII (Djou et al, 2022).…”

“…There are several ways to improve the low level of problemsolving, for example, by designing a valid, practical, and effective problem-solving learning [27,28]. The application of research results related to students' problem-solving skills can help to address students' low problem-solving abilities, such as (1) PBL (Problem-Based Learning) models have been proven to improve students' problem-solving abilities [24,26]; (2) The CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) model can improve problem-solving skills [13,28,29]; (3) Improving learning media and learning tools that are relevant in improving students problem-solving skills [30][31][32]; (4) Familiarize students in solving everyday life problems [33][34][35][36]. The abovementioned solutions can be used as an alternative by teachers as a suitable learning model supported by relevant learning media to improve students' problem-solving [37][38][39].…”

“…In education, a trendy term is known, namely the teaching and learning or learning process. Learning is an attempt to guide the student through the learning process to obtain learning objectives following what is expected (Amali et al, 2023;Djou et al, 2022;Hermanto et al, 2023;Payu et al, 2023).…”
