Practical electrical energy production to solve the shortage in electricity in Palestine and Pay Back period

Abstract: In this paper power energy had been estimated based on actual wind speed records in a coastal city in Palestine Ashdod. The main aims of this study to determine the feasibility of wind turbine and to estimate payback period. Therefore, to encourage investment in renewable energy in Palestine. The daily average wind speed data had been analyzed and fitted to the Weibull probability distribution function. The parameters of Weibull had been calculated by author using Graphical method the applied example wind turb… Show more

“…All these networks components can be out of service by fails or maintenance, among others. In addition, it is well known that the Wind speed has a random behavior, usually, modeled by a Weibull probability function [21], given by: Wind speed ( ) is an input value that allows the computation of the power generation of each individual wind turbine. However, the wind speed is different for each wind turbine.…”

“…Therefore, many governments tried to achieve the goal to supply an essential portion of the electrical grid from sustainable energy resources such as wind energy and PV solar system. The critical situation in the Mediterranean coastal plain of Palestine, the siege imposed and the growing need due to the high number of population for alternative sources of energy have become urgent concerns [1]. This study estimates wind…”

“…Estimating wind speed characteristics is very important to assess the potential of wind energy [4], evaluate the performance of wind energy systems [5], and design a power plant at a selected location. Moreover, wind energy potential varies directly to the wind speed, and the small changes in wind speed will affect the amount of energy produced by the wind power plant.…”
