“…Povidone iodine solution may be toxic to tissues in higher concentration [28] however numerous randomised controlled trial studies on chronic wounds including burn wound, concluded that quicker wound healing and a reduction of bacteria with povidone iodine-impregnated gauze dressing treated wounds. [29][30][31] In our study in both group, wounds were daily washed with 5% povidone iodine solution and conventional group dressing was done with 5% povidone iodine soaked gauze after squeezing it to make it good absorbent of wound soakage by capillary action.…”
