Abstract: Siromaštvo kao preovlađujući proces u savremenom svetu označava položaj u kojem se nalaze pojedinci, porodice, društvene grupe i čitave zajednice ljudi. Siromaštvo je praćeno krajnjim pomanjkanjem sredstava za život, lošim stanovanjem, primitivnim i oskudnim načinom odevanja, hroničnom glađu i trajnim delimičnim zadovoljavanjem osnovnih životnih potreba.
