Abstract:Ketoprak merupakan seni tradisional Jawa yang lahir dan berkembang dari kalangan masyarakat, sehingga seni ketoprak sangat kental dengan nilai yang relevan dengan kehidupan masyarakat Jawa. History is not only about studying the past, but also about how we study the past and use it as a guide for living in the present. The essence of history is past events reconstructed in the present to serve as provisions for life in the future. The VSTP rebellion in Semarang in 1923 is an interesting event to be reconstructed and packaged in historical learning in accordance with current developments. Learning that does not keep up with the times will only make students unable to adapt to new environments that may be present when times change. This material is important because this event is one of the important events during the movement that students must know. The aim of this research is to share knowledge information with history teachers so that they can develop learning materials that suit the needs and characteristics of students to achieve previously determined learning objectives. In this research, the researcher used a descriptive type of library research, where this method uses documents as research sources that are collected and analyzed, so that they become research data. The results that the researchers got were that VSTP was an organization of railway workers who rebelled against the railway companies during the Dutch East Indies together with ISDV because their rights as workers were not fulfilled and were looked down upon. From this incident, teachers can develop history learning materials in the form of handouts, modules, LKPD and comics packaged electronically. However, teachers are not limited to these learning materials alone, but can develop other learning materials according to students' needs and characteristics. It is hoped that the development of learning materials can help teachers in the learning process in class, and can make students more enthusiastic about learning history.

This study examines the construction of truth in the Kethoprak play "Saridin Andum Waris" performed by Bhakti Kuncoro Pati in 2022. Using a sociology of literature approach, we analyze how the play's storyline reflects substantive truth, exploring its relationship to procedural truth. Our data, comprising characters, plot, and settings, is examined in relation to the lived experiences of these elements in Javanese society. The analysis reveals that "Saridin Andum Waris" prioritizes substantive truth over procedural truth. This manifests in the play's conflicts, which arise and unfold due to irrationalities and emotional motivations rather than through legal or logical sequences. This suggests the play engages with deeper societal truths beyond surface-level legal or factual accuracy. By exploring the play's construction of truth, this study offers new insights into Kethoprak's role in reflecting and critiquing Javanese society. It also highlights the potential of dramatic works to delve into nuanced and subjective understandings of truth beyond established legal or rational frameworks.

Artikel ini membahas strata sosial masyarakat Jawa sebagai bahasa nonverbal statis yang dikaji secara etnopragmatik. Kajian ini merupakan kajian interdisipliner antara teori etnografi dan pragmatik. Teori etnografi adalah kajian yang menggambarkan budaya suatu masyarakat, sedangkan kajian pragmatik pada dasarnya menggambarkan penggunaan bahasa berdasarkan konteks. Dengan demikian, kajian etnopragmatik adalah kajian penggunaan bahasa berdasarkan konteks budaya masyarakat pemiliknya. Tujuan penelitian adalah menggambarkan wujud, fungsi, dan makna pragmatik yang terdapat dalam strata sosial masyarakat Jawa. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan perekaman. Analisis data dilakukan melalui langkah konkret (a) identifikasi data, (b) klasifikasi data, dan (c) interpretasi data. Temuan hasil penelitian berupa (a) strata sosial tingkat kepriyayian, (b) strata sosial kedudukan seseorang di dalam masyarakat, (c) strata sosial yang diungkapkan secara metaforis, (d) strata sosial dalam memilih jodoh, (e) strata sosial temu trah, dan (d) strata sosial bias gender.
