Potential of Pseudomonas chlororaphis subsp. aurantiaca Strain Pcho10 as a Biocontrol Agent Against Fusarium graminearum

Abstract: To develop an effective biocontrol strategy for management of Fusarium head blight on wheat caused by Fusarium graminearum, the bacterial biocontrol agent Pcho10 was selected from more than 1,476 wheat-head-associated bacterial strains according to its antagonistic activity in vitro. This strain was subsequently characterized as Pseudomonas chlororaphis subsp. aurantiaca based on 16S ribosomal DNA sequence analysis, assays of the BIOLOG microbial identification system, and unique pigment production. The major … Show more

“…Furthermore, the formation of AgNPs was confirmed by the results of UV spectrometers, which showed a spectrum of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) at the 422 nm absorption band ( Figure 1). Interestingly, the result of this study is consistent with the spectra contained in the literature regarding silver nanoparticles [20,22,27,28].…”

“…Biosynthetic pigments are important natural pigments, not restricted by seasons, materials and other conditions. Microorganisms can undergo continuous fermentation to produce pigments to meet the increasing needs of the community, and the majority of microbial pigments have biological activities (4,5). …”
