This paper presents an energy management strategy using stateflow controller related to DC micro-grids with an important penetration of renewable energy. The increase in world electricity demand is one of the principal drivers of the exhaustion of fossil fuels and expanded greenhouse gas emissions. To solve these problems, several countries have adopted actions for large renewable energy deployment, which includes wind energy, solar power, biomass power, tidal, and hydropower. These sources are considered as significant in delivering clean energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions for sustainable improvement. In such a case, these are referred to as distributed generation systems. Distributed generation can impact negatively on the performance of the distribution network as the distribution network will no longer operate with a unidirectional power flow pattern. To address these issues, micro-grids are being used as a platform to integrate distributed generation systems, as they provide significant benefits to end-users and to the distribution network. The objective of this paper was to implement an energy management system to ensure the proper operation of the developed DC microgrid and this was developed using Simulink blocks available in the MATLAB/Simulink software. The simulation results shown that this control strategy is unconditionally reliable to ensure proper operation of the microgrid systems. Moreover, the developed algorithm model presents another advantage, which enables the users to access and to change any control parameters within the DC microgrid. By comparing these results with the literature, the developed energy management algorithm provides safety and automatic control of the microgrid.

Smart home telah berkembang pesat, salah satu fitur yang banyak dimiliki oleh sistem smart home adalah untuk melakukan pengontrolan dan monitoring perangkat listrik yang ada di rumah. Pengontrolan bertujuan untuk menyalakan atau mematikan perngkat listrik, sedangkan monitoring bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi dari perangkat listrik apakah sudah menyala atau belum. Selain untuk memonitoring perangkat listrik, fokus dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memonitoring perangkat listrik yang gagal menyala karena mengalami kerusakan atau perangkat terputus dengan sumber tegangannya, dalam penelitian ini disebut dengn istilah abnormal atau anomali. Purwarupa dari smart home yang telah dikembangkan menggunakan protokol MQTT, sensor arus ACS712, NodeMcu, dan aplikasi web. Purwarupa smarthome telah dapat melakukan monitoring dan pengontrolan perangkat listrik dan memberikan informasi jika perangkat gagal menyala. Waktu yang diperlukan untuk menyalakan atau mematikan perangkat listrik berkisar dari 1.4 detik hingga 1.5 detik.

In planning for the generation capacity expansion planning, it is crucial to consider the economics of scale and the availability of primary energy sources. Solar power generation or PV PP is a plant that is very dependent on the availability of solar irradiance and land. To achieve Net Zero Emission by 2060, the Indonesian government aims to increase PV capacity to 4.68 GW. To support the accelerated integration of PV power plants into the electrical system and fulfill economic and sustainable aspects, the ideal capacity of PV power plants needs to be considered. This study involves optimization and comparison with various scenarios to determine the optimal combination for PV power plant planning. In the optimization process, Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) is used, assuming a load of 100 MW and various PV profiles. Based on the optimization results, to meet a 100 MW load, 138 MW of PV power plants are required, with a configuration of 125 MW for large-scale PV PP, 10 MW for medium-scale PV PP, and 3 MW for rooftop PV PP. The total cost needed is 11,445 thousand dollars, with an levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) of 4.75 c$/kWh. This value is significantly lower compared to other scenarios. To supply for 24 h, PV PP can utilize BESS, with an LCOE reaching 7.79 c$/kWh when optimal capacity and generation are achieved. The recommendation for determining the capacity of PV PP is to use the large-scale capacity scheme, both for daytime supply systems and for the 24-h scheme.
