“…The biomass and lipid productivity of these cyanobacteria increased when the wastewater containing chromium Cr(VI) was used instead of BG‐11 medium and the best yield was observed in 15 mg/L Cr(VI) (Figure ). Mashayekhi et al isolated a freshwater cyanobacterium, Synechococcus elongatus , from the Ramsar hot springs, Iran. The culture of the isolate in BG‐11 medium under the pH of 9, 72 mL/min flow rate, and 2% CO 2 produced the highest growth rate.…”

“…antibiotics and sterilization by ltration) using raceway ponds for cultivation suggest that the PtxD/Phi system would decrease operating costs. Using Phi as the P source and contamination control, operating costs would be 15.47 and 37 % lower (Supplementary Table 5 and 6, Additional File 2) than using antibiotic [9,50] and sterilization by ltration, respectively [51,52,53]. The cost of cultivation in open ponds is substantially lower than that of using other types of bioreactors, suggesting the PtxD/Phi system has great promise to contributing to overcome the contamination issue and open the possibility of implementation of this type of bioreactor to cultivate many other microalgae/cyanobacteria species to produce biofuels and other valuable products.…”

“…Synechococcus elangatus cyanobacterium was taken from Ramsar hot spring (Mazandaran, Iran). It was provided after isolation, preparing axenic culture and characterizing the strain . KOH, HCl (37%), Ethanol (99.8%), Nafion (5 wt.% in lower aliphatic alcohols and water), and Pt/C 20 wt.% on Vulcan XC72 were purchased from Sigma‐Aldrich, Germany.…”

“…Cyanobacteria, algae and plants use the CO 2 and light for photosynthesis and release the atmospheric oxygen and produce most of the latent chemical energy which is necessary for the earth life. Due to fast growth rates, cyanobacteria have high potential for bio‐chemicals production and fossil fuel substitution , .…”
