This study aims to obtain an empirical description of the skill level of students and whether there is a significant difference in the level of student skills before competency-based learning and after learning the competency-based curriculum at the Makassar Tourism Academy's Dish Management Study Program. This type of research is a survey with the independent variable being competency-based learning and the selection variable being the skill level of students using total sampling because the number of students studied was thirty people. Collecting data using observation techniques, namely by directly observing student skills, while the analytical technique used is T-test analysis (test difference between two averages). The results showed that the skill level of the students of the Dish Management Study Program at the Makassar Tourism Academy in competency-based learning was at a level that was less and less. On the other hand, after learning the competency-based curriculum, there was a significant increase, namely, they were at a good and very good level. Furthermore, there is a significant difference in the skill level of students before and after learning the competency-based curriculum in students of the culinary management study program. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that the management of the Makassar Tourism Academy in the future can apply the learning process using a competency-based curriculum as has been implemented in several vocational schools in Indonesia. Explanation of the purpose and objectives of the study (2-3 lines). Mangrove ecosystems perform biological and socioeconomic functions. Mangrove environments can be ecotourism destinations. This study analyzes mangrove potential to determine typical mangrove ecotourism attractions and strengthen the branding and marketing of mangrove ecotourism destination on the Tamban coast of Malang Regency, Indonesia. Explanation of the working methodology and the materials used (2-3 lines). Local management and communities validate mangrove potential field observations. GIS with Sentinel-2 and NDVI approach was used to analyze tides and satellite imaging data on mangrove thickness, density, and area. Analysis of mangrove potential in ArcMap utilizing five parameters: thickness, density, kind, biota, and tides. Four density classes were created using satellite imagery: non-mangroves, rare mangroves, moderate mangroves, and tight mangroves. Presentation and analysis of the obtained results (2-4 lines). The results showed that the Tamban coast mangrove area has a moderate ecotourism potential (potential value = 2.250), so it could be developed into mangrove ecotourism through conservation and limited utilization activities through marine ecotourism to provide economic, ecological, and social incentives. Mangrove ecotourism features that attract tourists and strengthen branding and marketing of this location include mangrove tourism education, canoeing, camping, spot photography, beach attractiveness, bird and violin crab biodiversity. The conclusions obtained following the application of the study (2-3 lines). Mangrove ecosystem on the Tamban coast has a high potential for conservation and marine ecotourism in order to provide economic incentives, also ecological and social benefits. The richness and distinctiveness of Tamban's mangrove ecotourism potential and attractions promotes the GPMC branding as a typical mangrove ecotourism.

The Leuweung Sancang Nature Reserve has a unique type of mangrove known as Kaboa (Aegiceras corniculatum). Kaboa is known as an endemic plant in the Sancang Beach area because of the myths and legends it has. The proof is that currently, the number of kaboa presence on Sancang Beach has begun to decrease. The cause of the decline in kaboa is closely related to the level of conservation knowledge possessed by the community. Research on the level of public knowledge regarding the conservation of the kaboa plant needs to be carried out. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method. The research was conducted in four villages namely Sancang Village, Sagara Village, Karyamukti Village, and Karyasari Village. The research instrument used a questionnaire with a Thurstone Scale score given to 100 respondents from the four selected villages using a purposive sampling technique. The results showed that 65% of the people had good knowledge, 28% of the people had sufficient knowledge, and 7% of the people had less knowledge about the conservation of the kaboa plant. The level of public knowledge on each indicator of use, maintenance, and supervision is in a good category. Most people already have good knowledge about the conservation of kaboa plants. However, there needs to be other efforts made by related parties including the government in it to increase public knowledge.
