PotassiumN,2-dichlorobenzenesulfonamidate sesquihydrate

Abstract: Key indicators: single-crystal X-ray study; T = 293 K; mean (C-C) = 0.005 Å; R factor = 0.042; wR factor = 0.105; data-to-parameter ratio = 16.2.In the title compound, K + ÁC 6 H 4 Cl 2 NO 2 S À Á1.5H 2 O, one water molecule has crystallographically imposed twofold symmetry. The K + ion is heptacoordinated by three O atoms from water molecules and by four sulfonyl O atoms of N-chloro-2-chlorobenzenesulfonamide anions. The S-N distance of 1.582 (2) Å is consistent with an S-N double bond. In the structure, the … Show more

“…The K–O bond distances for the bridging water ligands in compound 1 [(2.779(3) and 2.796(3) Å] fit well with other potassium complexes containing water as ligand. Thus, analogous K–O bond distances are found in other heptacoordinated potassium complexes such as [K][C 7 H 7 BrNO 2 S]·H 2 O, [K][C 6 H 4 Cl 2 NO 2 S]·H 2 O, and [K(calix[8]arene-H)(THF) 4 (H 2 O) 7 ] . Moreover, the latter shows a K–O(THF) bond distance close to those observed in compound 1 [2.674(3) and 2.734(3) Å].…”
