“…In the study of Cerit (2016), satisfaction of patients from the perspective of nurses was found to be above the average (13). In the study of Sendir et al (2012), it was determined that the patients were very satisfied related to nursing (14). The studies of the literature and findings of our study have shown that the reason for expectations of patients from nurses being attention and smiling faces rather than their professional information and skills might be that they assumed the competence of nurses as limited.…”

“…In acutely hospitalised elderly patients, it was found that almost one-third of them needed a laxative at least once every 3 days (26). In this study, we observed that prescribing prophylactic laxatives was common, although not routine in either stroke or orthopaedic units, even though impaired mobility and use of pain medications are factors that could potentially increase the risk of developing constipation (27,28). Our findings indicate that patients who were prescribed prophylactic laxatives were less likely to develop constipation.…”

“…31 Consistent with the literature, the group of participants in our study who reported not exercising regularly had a higher mean constipation risk score. The results of a study by Sendir et al 16 indicated that the patients were in the moderate risk group with a mean CRAS score of 12.73±4.75. On the other hand, the mean CRAS scores obtained in our study showed that most of the participants were in the low-risk group.…”
