“…Ultimately, simulation of tasks in other everyday life environments, such as virtual libraries, offices, ATMs, workbenches, virtual travelling etc., have been reported to have certain sensitivity to impairments after TBI in memory (Renison et al, 2012) and executive functions (Renison et al, 2012;Krch et al, 2013), and also good sensitivity and specificity to predict performance in simples tasks in the real world (Fong et al, 2010). Convergent validity between the performance in the virtual tasks has been reported to be excellent with clinical measures of executive function (Krch et al, 2013;Gilboa et al, 2019), general cognitive functioning (Cho and Lee, 2019), moderate with neurobehavioral symptoms (Gerber et al, 2014), and good with measures of hand dexterity (Gerber et al, 2014). In addition, performance in the virtual world has also shown moderate to good convergent validity with some measures of memory and executive function during performance in the real world (Renison et al, 2012).…”

“…Results showed better performance of participants who trained with the virtual ATM in reaction time (p = 0.021) and score (p = 0.043) in the virtual cash withdrawal task after treatment, but not in the money transfer task (Fong et al, 2010). Gerber et al (2014) simulated some interactive virtual tasks that were displayed in a computer monitor and interacted through the haptic device Phantom ® Omni™ (3D Systems, CA, USA) (Gerber et al, 2014).…”
