We read the article entitled "Post-ERCP Pancreatitis Risk Factors: Is Post-Sphincterotomy Bleeding Another Risk Factor?" by Altunpak et al 1 with great interest. Adverse events related to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) can have a significant impact on patients' outcomes. 2 The authors aimed to examine the relationship between patient/procedure-related parameters and post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP) and concluded that postsphincterotomy bleeding, in addition to emergency indication, ERCP history, cholangitis, precut sphincterotomy, and pancreatic cannulation, might be an independent risk factor for the development of PEP. We thank the authors for their great efforts.First, the PEP rate in the study sample was 43.5%. According to the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) guideline for ERCP-related adverse events, the risk of PEP is between 3.5% and 9.7%. 3 One
