This article endeavors to highlight and publicize the misunderstanding and misconception in Pakistani society that the men are always perpetrators of Spousal Violence (SV). It intends to establish that SV is not only wrong against women but also against men but it is not recognized in Pakistani society at its real degree. This study delves deeper into examining the causes and forms of SV by women perpetrator against men as well as the analysis of SV legislation in Pakistan. Analytical Legal research technique is used to collect data regarding SV against men and legislation on SV in Pakistan. Different enactments at National and provincial level and bills introduced for legislation on the topic of SV are looked into and compared with each other. SV against men is now being recognized to some extent but still a lot of work is needed to establish that the men may also be victim of SV and women may be perpetrator. As compared to women, SV against men is less perceived, especially in Pakistani society and some time it is not recognized. All legislative bodies of Pakistan, except one, do not recognize the SV against Men. There is rarity of legislation on SV against men in Pakistan, because there is only one enactment in Pakistan on the topic of Domestic Violence (DV), which defines the “man” as aggrieved person and recognize him as victim of DV or SV, and that is for Balochistan Province. Through provision of adequate resources and educating the masses male victims of SV may be supported and number of male victims of SV may also be reduced. For securing the rights of men, existing laws concerning DV requires amendments in accordance with the needs of time.

Objective: To explore the relationship between psychological well-being and psycho-social adjustment ofeconomically independent and dependent single parents belonging to various socio-economic classes. Study Design: Correlational study. Place and Duration of Study: This study was conducted at technical services association, Lahore, from Jun 2018 to Aug 2019. Methodology: A sample of 213 single parents with ages ranging from 25 to 50 was selected through purposivesampling. Psychological Well-Being Scale Revisited and Psychological Adjustment Scale were used. Results: Multivariate analysis showed that well-being and adjustment levels of divorced (M=114.17, SD=24.5),(M= 88.89, SD=19.45) single parents was significantly lower than those of widowed (M=136.78, SD=17.68),(M=105.86, SD=10.88) ones respectively. Also, economically independent (M=135.1, SD=20.38), (M=104.0, SD=14.5) single parents had better well-being and adjustment than those who are economically dependent (M=108.3, SD=24.5), (M=85.5, SD=17.1). Furthermore, post-hoc tests revealed significantly low psychological well-being (M=130.72, SD=23.16) and adjustment (M=81, SD=12.23) of single parents from lower social class. Conclusion: The study concludes that socio-economic status and economic independence/dependence have aprofound impact on the psychological wellbeing and adjustment of single parents. These findings will promotethe understanding of single parenting in collectiveistic cultures and may lead towards learning of coping strategies to foster psychological well-being, familial and social adjustments of single parents.

Spouses have several obligations over one another. In a marriage, the husband has rights over his wife and the wife has rights over her husband. Among these rights, the right of maintenance of wives is one of the most important. Numerous laws are there to protect the right of maintenance for wives. The Muslim family law ordinance of 1961 is one such law that ensures that women are treated fairly. Moreover, Islam also provides an explanation for the rights of partners in an Islamic marriage. If the terms of marriage declared at the time of Nikah are not satisfied, then the wife has the authority to seek help. Islam even gives women the right to get a divorce, if she is not treated or if her needs and rights are not satisfied. It is the foremost duty of husbands to look after their wives. They are accountable for giving them mental and physical support as well as financial support. Therefore, it is evident how much importance women have in Islam and how important maintenance is for Muslim women.
