Abstract: Fibre-reinforced shotcrete is an essential part of the support of hard rock tunnels. Due to the complexity of the design, a combination of empirical and numerical analysis is commonly used in the design. The required dosage of fibres for structural purposes is determined based on minimum energy absorption or residual flexural strength.
