Possible oscillations of the KNO scaling and the leading-particle effect

Abstract: Extending the ideas of Koba-Nielsen-Olesen (KNO) and combining them with the data on deep inelastic muon-proton scattering at the cms energy √ s from about 4 up to 20 GeV, we are led to the conclusion that the KNO scaling might reveal oscillations. Data on the scattering of muons on deuterons (while 8 ≤ √ s ≤ 30 GeV) as well as on the proton-proton and proton-antiproton collisions (in the range of √ s from about 11 up to 900 GeV) are also compatible with that phenomenon.
