Abstract:In the context of tokamak diagnostics, and considering a geometry involving line of sights inserted in a poloidal plane, The polarimetry measurements, i.e. the Faraday rotation and Cotton-Mouton ellipticity are very useful because they give quantitative evaluations of the poloidal magnetic field and plasma density respectively. In certain conditions, i.e. in plasma similarity experiments, they can give information on the plasma ion mass and this could be surprising being the polarimetry derived b… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
