Positive synergistic effect of gaseous mixtures and its applications

Abstract

I t i s defined as the p o s i t i v e s y n e r g i s t i c e f f e c t that the e l e c t r i c a l s t r e n g t h of a iew gaseous mixtures i s larger than that of individual component gases. In order to increase the e l e c t r i c a l s t r e n g t h s o f gaseous mixtures, the app l i c a t i o n of the e f f e c t i s importent. This paper s t u d i e s expe i-imen t a t 1 y the r e t a t i on be tween the e t ec i r i ca t breakdown properties of binary gaseous mixtures of SF6 with CCkFz and ternary gaseous mixtures of SF6;'Nz, SF6/C02 with CCIzFz under d i f f e r e n t uniformity of f i e l d , d i f f e r e n t pressure and d i f f e r e n t p a r t i a l pressure r a t i o . The experiment r e s u l t s ind i c a t e that the e l e c t r i c a l strengths of ternary gaseous mixtures such as SF6/'Nz;'CClaF2, SF~,,'COZ,.~CCIIF~ with o p t imat that of SF6, and i t s cost approaches t o the cost of binary gaseous mixture SF6/'Nz=50,'50. p a r t i a l pressure r a t i o can be increased to or exceed keywords : e l e c t r i c breakdown; gas d i e l e t r i c s ; gas di-e l e c t r i c s ; gas i n s o l a t i o n ; d i e l e c t r i c strength. ___.
