Position domain joint tracking

Abstract: It was shown that the Vector Delay Lock Loop (VDLL) enhances the robustness of a GNSS receiver by exploiting the spatial correlation of the received signals. But due to the periodicity of the carrier, the VDLL only operates on the codephase and the carrier-frequency. In contrast to the VDLL, the Joint Tracking receiver manages to sustain the carrier-phase lock even in fast-changing, difficult environments. Other than the VDLL, the Joint Tracking algorithm doesn't estimate the receiver's location. The novel Pos… Show more

“…In these cases, the tracking of the signals takes advantage of the fact that all satellite signals are received by the same antenna located at truer and moving with velocity truetrueṙ. The approach was further extended to include carrier phase tracking by Giger and Günther . These schemes have simple internal models for the time evolution of all state variables, including atmospheric delays.…”

“…This changes with the Vector Tracking Delay Locked Loop (VDLL) introduced by Spilker [13], and extended by Zhodzishsky, Yudanov, Veitsel, and Ashjaee to include joint delay and frequency tracking [14]. In these cases, the tracking of the signals takes advantage of the fact that all satellite signals are received by the same antenna located at E r and moving with velocity P E r. The approach was further extended to include carrier phase tracking by Giger and Günther [15]. These schemes have simple internal models for the time evolution of all state variables, including atmospheric delays.…”
