Porous Silicon Based Rugate Filter Wheel for Multispectral Imaging Applications

Abstract: Porous silicon based rugate filters are emerging as interesting functionalized optical components in Micro-Opto-Electro-Mechanical Systems due to their specific nanostructures and superior optical properties. In this work, a cost-effective approach to generate a porous silicon based rugate filter wheel containing nine filter segments in the visible wavelength range suitable for multispectral imaging systems is presented. The filter wheel segments are patterned on a silicon wafer using silicon nitride insulatin… Show more

“…Furthermore, RFs have substantially higher laser-induced damage thresholds with respect to Bragg mirrors (see, for example, [ 29 , 30 , 31 , 32 ]). There have been numerous methods developed for obtaining RFs [ 33 , 34 , 35 , 36 , 37 ]; for example, porous silicon-based RFs represent a popular approach [ 31 , 38 , 39 , 40 , 41 , 42 ].…”
