Wonorejo is one of the village near Baluran National Park, East Java that dominated by farm workers. The total farm workers in Wonorejo Village up to 45% by 2018. We know that farm workers are vulnerable groups which have high risk in poverty. But, these groups actually exist in the village. The purpose of this study is to describe socio-demographic characteristics and economic assets of farm worker households in Wonorejo Village, Baluran National Park, East Java. We used primary data with households survey and descriptive quantitative method of analysis. According to social characteristics it is known that the most of household heads of farm workers in Wonorejo Village did not finish primary school (46%) and only 65% of farm workers were all members in healthy condition. According to demographic characteristics, most of farm worker households were headed by male and the number of family members was quite diverse, the average age of farm workers more than 64 years. The result also showed that savings were the one of farm workers strategy for survival.

This study aimed to explain the conditions of poverty in Gorontalo Province, Sulawesi, Indonesia, to identify the causes of poverty in the province, and then to propose efforts to reduce this poverty. Data related to human and economic resources were used in the analysis. The condition of poverty was seen through the DPSIR approach, which consists of the driver (D), pressure (P), state (S), impact (I), and response (R). Poverty in Gorontalo Province could be reduced by utilizing the occupation that dominates the population, which is in agriculture sector. Therefore, developing an agropolitan system is a solution. In the first stage, the location quotient (LQ), shift share (SS), and Klassen typology methods were used to determine regencies or cities that have the potential to develop an agropolitan system. The results of the analysis showed that there were two districts that have the potential to develop agropolitan systems, namely Pohuwato Regency and Gorontalo Regency. Efforts to reduce poverty in Gorontalo Province with an agropolitan system can be continued with a second stage consisting of the preparation of products and forms of management organizations, and a third stage in the form of strengthening human resources.

The aim of this article was developing learning material for Civic Engagement Education based on ecological and cultural wisdom. The object of the study was the Central Sangga Buana Karang farmer community. The theoretical approaches that are considered relevant are those that are anthropological, ecological, and biological in nature. The results of the study show that Jakarta, apart from being the center of the economy, politics-bureaucracy, education and culture, as well as the center for the development of science and technology, is generally also the center of urbanization from various motives and backgrounds (migration). As a result of migration and population development that is not in line with geographical conditions, environmental and demographic management are to be separate problems that cannot be resolved by DKI Jakarta Government. For instance, the rampant illegal settlements have caused damage and pollution to the environment. However, in the South Jakarta area, especially in the Pesanggrahan Karang Tengah River watershed, there was a protected urban forest area that has been successfully managed by Sangga Buana volunteers using an ecological and cultural wisdom approach. This community efforts can be developed as one of the study materials for Community Citizenship Education.
