Population Changes on the Salonika Campagna *

Abstract: ABSTRACT. Since the Greek annexation of this plain in 1913 there have been some significant changes in the total number, distribution and composition of its population. These changes result from a number of causes but primarily because of war, internal and external population movements. The economy of the area has also moved in sympathy with population growths and hence the use of older traditional farming methods has declined.
