“…33 In triple-negative breast cancer, the polysaccharide extracted from Polygonatum sibiricum decreased the population of myeloid cells and hematopoietic cell expansion in the spleen, suggesting the anti-breast cancer function. 34 In the P. sibiricum, there are 64 chemical compounds with main parts as rhamnetin, wogonin, chrysosplenetin B, dauriporphine, and 5-hydroxyl-7,8-panicolin, whose targets include Akt, MAPK14, PIK3CG, and GSK3 of kinases and cell death-related p53, NOS2, and SCN5A, as almost half drug-targeted compounds are related to anti-cancer by network pharmacology analysis, 35 which is consistent with our current results. The screened top-ranked targets of Akt 35 are similar to our results based on whole chemical component database analysis.…”

“…In Balb/c female mice bearing triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), polysaccharide-rich extract from P. sibiricum (PREPS) could protect hematopoiesis through inhibiting hematopoietic cell expansion in spleen, as well as markedly increase hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells and common lymphoid progenitors in the bone marrow [ 130 ]. PREPS may show long-lasting anti-tumor effects in assisting TNBC therapies through sustaining hematopoiesis and lymphoid regeneration in bone marrow [ 130 ].…”

“…Diverse flavones [ 2 ], homoisoflavanones [ 3 ], alkaloids [ 4 ], steroid saponins [ 5 ], triterpenoid saponins [ 6 ], polysaccharides [ 7 ] and their derivatives were isolated from this species in past studies. Past studies also showed that this herb exhibited anti-aging [ 7 , 8 ], anti-inflammatory [ 9 , 10 ], anti-osteoporotic [ 11 , 12 ], immune enhancing [ 13 , 14 ], neuroprotective [ 15 ], anti-diabetic [ 16 ], anticancer [ 17 ], and sleep-promoting [ 18 ] activities.…”
