Polymorphisms of the IL1-BETA-511T/C gene in pregnant women complicated with pre-eclampsia

Abstract: Objective Identify the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) of IL-1 Beta and the onset and severity of the disease. Pre-eclampsia (PE) is a relatively common, systemic pregnancy disorder characterized by the development of concurrent hypertension (>140/90 mmHg) and proteinuria (>300 mg/24 h) at ≥20 weeks of gestation, that may also be associated with a myriad of other symptoms such as edema, headache, blurred vision, irritability, abdominal pain, and thrombocytopenia.
