Polymorphism of CD1B Gene and Its Association with Yolk Immunoglobulin (IgY) Concentration and Newcastle Disease Antibody Titer in IPB-D1 Chicken

Abstract: The CD1B gene has an important role in the immune system of poultry by mediating antibody induction. The study aimed to identify the CD1B gene polymorphism and its association with the concentration of IgY and ND antibody titers in IPB-D1 chicken. As many as 111 of IPB-D1 chickens at 21 weeks old were used in this study. Polymorphism identification of the CD1B gene was made using the PCR Sequencing method, while the IgY and ND antibody titers were done using the ELISA and HI test, respectively. The association… Show more

“…The concentration of total serum IgY in chickens can be used to measure their fitness, health, and nutrition (Sun et al, 2013). The average IgY concentration of IPB-D2 chickens was higher than IPB-D1 chickens (Al-Habib et al, 2020), and the normal concentration was 5-10 mg mL -1 (Oberlander et al, 2020). Based on statistical analysis, the SNP in the CD4 gene did not significantly differ between genotypes, for IgY concentrations, SNP g.7526 C>T CT has the highest average IgY concentration of 13.85±0.18 mg mL -1 .…”

“…Antibody production is induced by exposure to disease through intricate cell signalling (APC, T cells, and B cells). The development of antibodies and the immunological response of chickens can both be affected by communication problems or mistakes (Al-Habib et al 2020).…”

“…In the selection program and genetical point of view, the concentration of IgY and ND antibody titers can be employed as indicators. Several genes regulate the synthesis of IgY and ND antibodies (Al-Habib et al 2020).…”

“…IPB-D1 chickens reached 1.38 ± 0.09 kg (male) or 1.18 ± 0.12 kg (female) at the age of 12 weeks (Al-Habib et al 2020a). There have been several studies to improve genetic quality in IPB chickens, such as the prolactin gene in IPB-D1 chickens as a marker for egg production traits (Romlah et al 2020) and CD1B gene diversity for disease resistance traits (Al-Habib et al 2020b).…”
