Polymorphic reticulosis: A malignant lymphoma of b‐cell lineage

Abstract: Whether the pathogenesis of polymorphic reticulosis is from T cells, B cells, or histiocytes has been controversial. In this study, the Southern blot hybridization technique was used to analyze immunoglobulin and T-cell receptor beta-chain genes and to perform the conventional surface marker analysis in two patients with polymorphic reticulosis. The immunophenotype demonstrated the presence of predominantly mature, activated T-lymphocytes, minimal B-cells, and no natural killer cells or monocytes/granulocytes.… Show more

“…Compound 5 j' was prepared with tert-butyl 1-cyanocyclopentanecarboxylate [43] and tert-butyl bromoacetate by the same procedure as used for 5 d. 1 Ethyl 5-(tert-butylamino)-4,4-dimethyl-3,5-dioxopentanoate (5 k): Compound 5 b (10.0 g, 38.7 mmol) was stirred in CH 2 Cl 2 (40 mL) and CF 3 COOH (20 mL) for 8 h at room temperature. The solvent was evaporated under vacuum to give the crude acid 5-ethoxy-2,2-dimethyl-3,5-dioxopentanoic acid (5 s; 7.2 g, 92 %), which was used directly in the synthesis of the amide.…”
