Polymer-monomer particles formation and particle size distribution during heterophase polymerization in the presence of water-insoluble organosilicon surfactant
Abstract:In this work mechanism of polymer particles formation during styrene heterophase polymerization in the presence of waterinsoluble organosilicon surfactant was investigated. Dependency between monomer conversion rate from early stages of polymerization and particle diameters change, molecular weight, particle size and molecular weight distribution was analyzed. The effect of the gel effect and Ostwald maturation on particle diameter and polymer molecular weight was evaluated.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
