Halide perovskites have shown great potential for nextgeneration optoelectronics. Despite the high efficiency of devices achieved in the laboratory, instability in long-term device operation stalls commercialization. A particular concern is how the remarkable physical properties can be retained when the photoactive materials are integrated into functional devices. Although not prevailing yet, creating nanocomposites of halide perovskites has shown promise to solve some of the instability issues in the initial work. In this Perspective, we discuss the advantages, current limitations, and challenges of perovskite composites and their effects on the physical properties. In order to provide an outlook of future directions, we also highlight some open questions related to carrier dynamics, interfacial effects, and charge transport properties.
