Polymer‐derived silicon nitride ceramics by digital light processing based additive manufacturing

Abstract: In this work, silicon nitride ceramic components with simple cuboid and complex honeycomb and lattice structures from preceramic polymers were fabricated by using digital light processing (DLP) based additive manufacturing and pyrolysis. The photosensitive precursor for DLP based additive manufacturing was prepared by mixing high ceramic yield polysilazane with commercial acrylic resin and photoinitiator. The material formulation and the structure of the green body were characterized by using FTIR. Si3N4 ceram… Show more

“…The ultraviolet (UV) beams of SLA scan layer by layer, so the molding speed is slow. However, DLP uses UV light to shape the shape of each molding section to the printing surface accurately, so the accuracy is higher and the molding speed is faster [31]. Therefore, DLP has a great advantage in manufacturing large parts with complex shape and high precision.…”

“…Fortunately, in recent years, the development of additive manufacturing (AM) technology has brought new ideas for solving this problem. [9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16] Chen et al 12 prepared SiC ceramics through direct ink writing of polycarbosilane-hexane solution. Lv et al 15 fabricated SiC/SiC ceramics based on 3D printing and chemical vapor infiltration (CVI) technology.…”
