“…The melting point of PHBCS0 was 268.3 °C with the crystallinity at 81%. These results are similar to the values in the literature [ 8 , 11 , 21 ]. Table 4 shows the decrease in enthalpy fusion from 125 to 76 J/g.…”

“…In Figure 6 , a single degradation’s temperature was shown in the TGA/DTA plots of all PHB/CS composites after blending and shifted to the right once the content of CS increased. This is because the proper miscibility occurred between PHB and CS at different compositions, and the addition of CS disrupted the regularity of PHB and reduced the crystallinity [ 8 , 11 , 13 , 21 ]. This can be confirmed by the reduction in H m in the DSC curves.…”

“…The chemical structure of PHB contains a hydrophobic methyl group and hydrophilic ester groups, but in general, PHB is a hydrophobic polymer [ 72 ]. The control of its hydrophilicity is an important task, the solution to which can greatly expand the areas of biomedical application of this polymer [ 73 ].…”

“…The wide adoption of PHBHs in the industry is not immediate, since their physicochemical properties are not competitive with those of the majority of conventional polymers of fossil origin. That is the main driver for this work, which aims to improve the properties of PHBH by the addition of nanoparticles [37], as stated before. That is why 5000 As presented in Figure 16b (see Table S7) the results clearly show that the environmental impacts are not sensitive to the addition of such small amounts of different reinforcements.…”
