Polydopamine-based molecular imprinting on silica-modified magnetic nanoparticles for recognition and separation of bovine hemoglobin

Abstract: Surface molecular imprinting, especially on the surface of silica-modified magnetic nanoparticles, has been proposed as a promising strategy for protein recognition and separation. Inspired by the self-polymerization of dopamine, we synthesized a polydopamine-based molecular imprinted film coating on silica-Fe(3)O(4) nanoparticles for recognition and separation of bovine hemoglobin (BHb). Magnetic molecularly imprinted nanoparticles (about 860 nm) possess a core-shell structure. Magnetic molecularly imprinted … Show more

“…In this work, the MIP1 exhibited significant adsorption selectivity for BHb with IF of 4.23 and SC for other proteins being higher than 2.40 (Supporting Information Table S2). Compared with some studies, the IF in this work (IF = 4.23) was higher [33,34]. These results further proved the excellent imprinting efficiency of the present method.…”

“…Compared to the uncoated AZ31, the AHEC coating of AZ31 shows no obvious differences. This may be because the AHEC film is relatively thin with amorphous crystallinity [41]. However, in addition to the characteristic peak of magnesium alloy, the HA/AHEC/AZ31 produces a new sharp and narrow characteristic peak.…”
