“…The risk of seafood consumption thought to be contaminated with PAH is of prominent importance with expanding urbanization and fossil fuel demand such as coal consumption which in its turn can contaminate marine sediment (Sun et al ., 2016). Analysis of marine sediment from Haizhou Bay and Lusi fishing ground in China demonstrated that marine organisms such as the crabs P. trituberculatus and Charybdis japonica can be moderately polluted with feeding, and habitats can act as modulators for PH bioaccumulation in marine sediment and biota (Zhang et al ., 2020). This finding indicates that although cancer risk from seafood is low there is a potential risk of PAH bioaccumulation in marine trophic levels due to consistent anthropogenic pollution.…”
