Abstract:Abstract. Reports of high-density amorphous forms of ice, quartz and Si have intensified the search for amorphous polymorphs in other systems. The network structures that exhibit pressure-induced amorphization are interesting from the point of view of polyamorphism. Recent in-situ high pressure Raman scattering and synchrotron x-ray diffraction studies on negative thermal expansion material zirconium tungstate have revealed an amorphous to amorphous transition at 19 GPa. The transition was identified for the d… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
