Politische Anthropologie und Anthropologiekritik

Abstract

Anthropologische Begründungsfiguren gelten in der zeitgenössischen Politikwissenschaft als überholt. Zugleich sind anthropologische Annahmen im politischen Denken jedoch allgegenwärtig. Diese Spannung nehmen wir zum Anlass für eine Verteidigung der Notwendigkeit und Möglichkeit der politischen Anthropologie. Dazu systematisieren wir erstens die Stellung anthropologischer Prämissen in der politischen Theorie, indem wir diese nach ihrem Explikationsgrad, der Stärke ihres Gehalts, ihrem epistemischen Zugang sowie ihrer theoretischen Funktion klassifizieren. Zweitens typologisieren wir verschiedene argumentative Motive (post-)moderner Anthropologiekritik, um zu zeigen, dass sie zwar methodisch wichtige Hinweise für das Projekt der politischen Anthropologie liefern, es aber nicht notwendigerweise als Ganzes untergraben. Drittens schlagen wir angesichts aktueller Problemstellungen in der politischen Theorie wie der Frage nach den Subjekten politischer Ordnung eine Erneuerung der politischen Anthropologie vor. Durch unsere Systematisierung der Stellung von anthropologischen Annahmen und anthropologiekritischen Argumenten möchten wir einen Beitrag zur Klärung der Rolle der Anthropologie für das politische Denken leisten und eine Wiederaufnahme des Projekts der politischen Anthropologie motivieren.
