“…In order to raise awareness, empower citizens and deliver socially just outcomes, we urge cities to explicitly acknowledge (as advocated in Allen 2008;Bedore 2010;Prové et al 2019), comprehensively address (as advocated in Meerow et al 2019;Moragues-Faus 2017;Tornaghi 2017) and concretely target (as advocated in Blake 2019; Candel 2020; Crivits et al 2016) social justice issues in their urban food policies. Based on the research steps followed in this paper, we have put forward our ideas and plans for the RE-ADJUSTool, enabling urban food governance stakeholders to qualitatively assess, reflect on and operationalise how their UFSs or food organisations can incorporate the social justice theme and who to involve in this pursuit.…”

“…Many of the policy objectives are formulated to be beneficial for all with little concrete descriptions of policy targets, indicators and instruments. When urban governments are using abstract language and generalizations, such as "serving all citizens" or "healthy food for all", without mentioning specific stakeholders or targeted action steps, they are avoiding complicated but necessary justice-related conflicts and trade-offs (Prové et al 2019).…”
