Politics in Science

Abstract: Politics involve the interpersonal negotiation among members of a group for power within a status hierarchy. Politics are involved in science in at least two ways. Evolutionary psychologists study the mechanisms involved in political behavior, and are subject to their own political biases which they bring to their work, which shapes both, the questions they ask and the inferences they make.
