“…The color change of the lesion and degree of swelling at the time of injection should also be monitored. The optimal amount of polidocanol for injection has been reported to be 0.2 mL per mm of tumor size (7). In addition to hemangiomas, the intralesional administration of 1% polidocanol has been reported to be safe and effective for the management of vascular malformations, including arteriovenous malformation (21).…”

“…Moreover, it can also be used to manage esophageal hemangiomas ( 6 ). Nevertheless, few reports have described the use of endoscopic sclerotherapy for the treatment of small bowel hemangiomas ( 7 - 9 ). Additional reports on the clinical usefulness of this procedure are needed to ascertain its utility.…”

“…Therapeutic interventions for PHE have been reported in 5–38.9% of patients with PHE, including endoscopic treatment using balloon endoscopy, radiological interventions and surgery, argon plasma coagulation and/or hemoclips, and polidocanol injection having been used to achieve hemostasis [22, 25, 31, 33-35]. Various modalities have also been used for the treatment of small-bowel varices [36-40].…”

“…They may cause abdominal pain, bleeding and/or obstruction. Advances in endoscopic techniques with argon plasma coagulation, and sclerotherapy, have led to successful endoscopic interventions, however large lesions need surgical resection ( 33 , 34 , 48 ) ( Figure 2A , B ).…”
