Police Discrimination

Abstract: Police discrimination can manifest itself in a number of ways: against racial/ethnic minorities; against women; against LGBT individuals in their community. Police officers may also discriminate against fellow officers who belong to one of these minority groups. Whether these accusations of discrimination are actual or perceived, widespread or minor, police officers and managers need to be cognizant of the feelings of minority groups in order to improve levels of police satisfaction and legitimacy.
