Polarized Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Applications of Spice Samples

Abstract: In this study, the elemental concentrations of some spice plants gathered from Mut-Mersin in Turkey were analyzed by polarized energy dispersive x-ray fluorescence (PEDXRF) spectrometry. The analyzed spices are peppermint (Mentha piperita), thyme (Thymus vulgaris), and sumac (Rhus glabra). These samples are very often used in the preparation of Turkish foods.
