Abstract:A polarization conversion of a single photon using a semiconductor quantum dot (QD) coupling to a two-mode optical microresonator (MR) is studied. The rotation angle of the polarization vector depends on the orientation of QD axes with respect to MR ones, parameters of the system, and a conversion regime. A nanostructure based on a two-dimensional photonic crystal coupling to a single-electron QD is considered as the possible converter design. It is shown that this structure can also act as a beam splitter and… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
