Polarizability of a metal rod and wave resistance of a symmetric vibrator

Abstract: Results of calculations of polarizability of a metal rod by various approximation methods, numerical solution of an integral equation, and polarizability measurement by the resonator method are presented. Methods of calculations of the wave resistance of a symmetric vibrator are examined, and a method of estimating the wave resistance for small ratios of the vibrator length to its diameter is suggested.

“…a great amount of agglomerates emerges in a relatively short period of time. We associate it with the fact that polarizability of metal rod increases as the 3rd degree of its length [32]. This can be considered as a positive feedback, since large particles have higher dipole moment.…”
