In diesem Beitrag wird der Frage nachgegangen, inwiefern es aus sprachwissenschaftlicher Sicht sinnvoll ist, anzunehmen, dass lyrische Texte von sprachlichen Abweichungen geprägt sind. Es wird die Ansicht vertreten, dass Besonderheiten der Satzgliedstellung unseren Erwartungen an die Lyrik entsprechen und somit gerade nicht als abweichend, sondern als unauffällig zu gelten haben. Syntaktische Abweichungen, die diese Bezeichnung verdienen, treten punktuell auf und sind oft in Verbindung mit der Verbvalenz zu sehen. Der Vergleich mit Beispielen morphologischer Kreativität zeigt außerdem, dass jede grammatische Ebene eine anders geartete Beschreibung von Regularitäten und Strukturen, also auch von Abweichungen erfordert.
